The historical research in relation to the Asia Minor disaster is constantly progressing, new evidence is emerging that illuminates the various sides of the tragedy experienced by Asia Minor Hellenism in the late phase of the Ottoman Empire and in the emerging phase of the Turkish state that succeeded the Ottoman Empire. A tragedy which led to the total destruction and the end of its centuries-long presence in Asia Minor.
